Selection of projects for private residential spaces produced during activity of 16dots studio or individually.

The key concepts of my design approach are: functionality (in relation to the individual need of every client), unique and clean style, high level quality of space. I consider Design as a tool to elevate the quality of life through harmonious architectural environment.

contemporary Chic

  • Type: Private apartment

  • Location: Moscow, Russia

  • Total area: 70 sq.m.

BEFORE

AFTER

This apartment was designed for a young couple, that wished for an interior that reflected their positive attitude and extrovert nature. The space needed to be highly functional and cozy at the same time.

16dots was responsible for every detail of this new construction, from the overall layout to the finishing materials and lighting fixtures. We executed drawings for custom-made furniture to ensure that every element of the space contributed to the interior concept.

Complex geometry of the ceiling, combination of natural textures and clean white surfaces, mirrored closet doors – all these elements work to create a synergy. Abundant use of wood panels makes the space warm and comfortable.

TOUCH OF NATURE

  • Type: Private apartment

  • Location: Moscow, Russia

  • Total area: 37 sq.m.

BEFORE

AFTER

The owners of this small studio apartment are big fans of contemporary style and natural materials. They dreamed of an apartment with an environment close to natural, where they could relax and recharge from their active urban lifestyle.

The design aimed to exploit every available square centimetre. A special “transformer” sofa enables the space to be quickly converted from a comfortable living area into a cozy bedroom; kitchen isle counter executes dining table function; entrance area contains big custom made wardrobe.

A combination of wooden beams, natural stone and interior moss, bring the feeling of a natural landscape into an apartment in the middle of the metropolis.

SCANDINAVIAN STYLE

  • Type: Private apartment

  • Location: Moscow, Russia

  • Total area: 75 sq.m.

BEFORE

AFTER

Clients, a young family with two children, requested a Scandinavian style interior that would give an opportunity to the whole family to spend more time together on everyday basis.

A single-room apartment was to be converted into a two-bedroom flat, without sacrificing a functional kitchen and a spacious living room, which would become the core of the future interior.

The design offered bright spaces, full of light and color. It features some complex combinations of architectural volumes, colors and patterns that visually expand the spaces and emphasize various spatial elements in relation to their functionality.

contemporary classic

  • Type: Private apartment

  • Location: Moscow, Russia

  • Total area: 127 sq.m.

The design of this apartment was inspired by "traditional" style. The plan has been developed with particular attention to clear visual and physical distinction between common and private areas of the apartment.

Most part of the furnishings are bespoke, designed exclusively for this project. Thus allowing to maximizing the efficiency and creating a harmonious space where every detail has its important aesthetic and functional part.

Wooden luxury

  • Type: Private villa

  • Location: Moscow, Russia

  • Total area: 600 sq.m.

The load bering structure of the villa, made of reinforced concrete on the ground floor and Siberian cedar on the first and second floors, was already in place when I started my work on this project. Given the peculiarities of the traditional construction, where the wooden beams form the walls by intersection, and thus cannot be moved, the task was to develop the best possible solution for existent layout management and decoration.

The main scope was to make the precious wood of which the villa was constructed, a main active decorative element. Ceilings, decorated by hand drawn ornaments and traditional ceramics were implemented in order to create an atmosphere similar to the noble palaces of the Past.
